COMING HOME

A Sunset Journey into the Heart of Thassos

An invitation

Some evenings ask nothing of you but to arrive.

This is one of them. As the sun lowers over the Aegean and the light turns to gold and rose, we gather on the sand to breathe, to move slowly, to come home to ourselves. Not to become someone new. To remember someone you already are.

A different kind of yoga

This is not a workout. There are no mirrors, no perfect shapes to chase, no one watching to see whether you get it right.

Here, yoga is an inner journey. The body moves gently, the breath softens, the sea keeps time. The real practice is what happens quietly beneath the surface and that part belongs to you alone.

The island as teacher

Thassos, an island of gods and myths, of olive groves and marble and quiet coves the maps forget. There is an energy here that does not hurry.

We don’t only practise on the island, we practise with it. We borrow the steadiness of its earth, the rhythm of its water, the openness of its sky, and we let the place do some of the work that words cannot.

A journey through the summer

From June to September, the classes move like a slow tide, season into season, moon into moon.

We begin by arriving and grounding. We let the heart open. We notice the masks we hadn’t realised we were wearing. We practise letting go and meeting ourselves with kindness. And as the summer ripens, we begin to imagine who we might become.

You don’t have to come to every class, and you don’t have to start at the beginning. Wherever you step in, the island meets you there.

New moon, full moon

On the dark and the full of each moon, we stay together a little longer to set an intention, to release what has grown heavy, to sit beneath the sky as the light returns or fades.

A ritual, a candle, the sea, the quiet. Simple, beautiful things.

We walk together and alone

We move through this season side by side, and yet no two journeys will look the same.

You arrive with your own life, your own questions, your own season of being. What stirs in you might be tenderness, or courage, or simply rest. I can’t tell you what you’ll find here and I wouldn’t want to. The not-knowing is part of the beauty.

So I’ll ask only this: come curious. Be a little brave. Step into something new, not for what you might gain from it, but for the simple, alive feeling of having said yes.

Who’s guiding you

I’m Evangelia.

For the first half of my life I built the kind of success the world applauds. The education, the career, the right boxes ticked. From the outside it looked complete. Inside, something quieter kept asking for more: freedom, beauty, real connection, the courage to live closer to my own heart.

So I followed it back across thirty years and a whole other country, home to the island where I was born.

I’m a yoga teacher, trained in classical practice and in older, more ceremonial ways. I’m also a poet, a sailor, a mother, a woman still learning, out loud. If any of this feels familiar, you’ll likely feel at home on the mat beside me.

Where we meet

Sunset classes run through the summer at three of the island’s most beautiful beach bars Achinos in Limenas, Oasis in Pefkari, and Luuma in Thymonia. Each class ends as the sun does, with time to linger by the water afterwards.

See the calendar for days, times and moon gatherings.

Come home

Wherever you are in your life right now, there is a place for you on the sand.

Come as you are. Come curious. Come home.

With love, light, and gratitude,

Namaste
